Death of Former Envoy

Sympathies are extended to the family of Joseph Pilendiram, Legion Envoy in East Africa from 1059 to 1962. Born in Sri Lanka, he was educated by Irish Missionaries at St Patrick’s College in Jaffa and regarded his faith as having its source in St. Patrick’s mission to Ireland in the 5th century.
He joined the Legion of Mary at an early age before going to London to complete his education. As Envoy he worked in Kenya, Uganda and parts of Tanzania, then known as Tanganika. May he rest in peace.
