Conference: A New World of Mary – February 2021

“Blessed be St. Joseph, Her Most Chaste Spouse”

When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife (Mathew 1:24)

Saturday 13 February 2021 at 19:00 GMT

In 1921, Pope Benedict XV inserted the line ‘Blessed be St. Joseph, her most chaste spouse’ into The Divine Praises. Fifty years previously, in 1870, Pope Pius IX had declared St. Joseph the Patron of the Universal Church. It was this declaration that began a period of great devotion to this most holy saint, of whom very little is known. It was also during this period that St. Joseph appeared in two Church approved Marian apparitions; Knock in 1879 and Fatima in 1917.

God desired that His only begotten Son, Jesus, be born of a woman. He also desired that He have an earthly father. This man Joseph was to care for and protect the Son of God and His mother while they were on earth. He must have been an exemplary husband and father for God would not entrust His Mother and Son to anyone less.

In this Year of Saint Joseph, the talks and prayers will centre around this powerful saint. Guest speakers include Fr. Michael Maher S.M. The Rosary and Legion prayers will be recited. There will be music and hymns and some time for quiet adoration before the Blessed Sacrament.
