Alfie Lambe Anniversary Mass

The annual Anniversary Mass was celebrated on Saturday, 18 February 2012, in the Church of Mary Immaculate Refuge of Sinners, Rathmines, Dublin. It was concelebrated by Rev.Fr. Fergus O’Keeffe, S.J., Spiritual Director of Annunciata Curia, Dublin, and Rev. Fr. John Keenan, Legion Spiritual Director in Glasgow University. The homily by Fr. O’Keeffe gave details of Alfie’s life, especially of his formative years in which the foundations of his spiritual life were laid down. Her Excellency, Dr. María Esther Teresa Bondanza, the Argentine Ambassador to Ireland, very kindly attended, as did Alfie’s sister, Mrs. Kathleen Brophy, and his nephew, Tadhg. A group of 13 legionaries from Glasgow University were present also.

Visitors from University of Glasgow, Scotland

It was a great joy for the Concilium to welcome 13 legionaries from the University of Glasgow, with their Spiritual Director, Rev. Fr. John Keenan. Eleven nationalities from five continents were represented among the legionaries. There are two praesidia in the University and the members are engaged in very substantial apostolic work.

Concilium Visit to South America

Pat O’Donoghue and Noel Lynch reported on their visit to Legion Councils in Argentina and to the Senatus of Asuncion, Paraguay, and Montevideo, Uruguay. They took part in a Youth Conference in Buenos Aires and in a Legion Officers’ Conference in Asuncion. They also learned more about the progress of the Cause for Beatification of the Servant of God Alfie Lambe.
